Well, this is an initiative to provide the best services in legal consultations, logistics – particularly to promote import-export in North-East India, along with initiatives in Agro-tech, food processing and skill development. A few of us who have worked in various capacities in the Government – both at the Centre as well as in Assam and in important Public Sector undertakings and organisations of repute – decided to get together and create a platform where we and other like-minded professionals can interact and provide our expertise in resolving issues in the following fields :

North-East India was not very well known for its industrial and commercial activities. One big reason was the lack of connectivity and infrastructure in the region. However, this is no longer the case now. With consistent efforts of both the Centre and State Governments in the recent past, the North-East is fast becoming a hub of economic activity and is increasingly attracting substantial private and public sector investments in recent years. It was therefore felt that a professional setup to offer consulting services in various areas to address the requirements of commercial and industrial enterprises in this region of the country is the need of the hour.

Furthermore, North-East India presently contributes less than 1% of India’s total export trade. Despite its strategic location bordering five countries, namely Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and China, its potential as a trade hub has been hindered by a lack of adequate infrastructure, even though it is increasingly being viewed as a key gateway for trade with South-East Asian countries under the  Act East Policy. To address this gap, Efficient Earth Solutions is promoting imports and exports in North-East India.

Besides infrastructure issues, it has been felt that there is a substantial lack of knowledge of import-export procedures among the people of this region. To address this, our firm has been conducting training programmes in this area. We also have a partner company which provides logistics and customs clearance facilities.

North-East India is primarily agriculture based and therefore, we feel that a boost in agro-tech and food processing would be steps in the right direction. Skill development is another focus area of our company.
